Today our Camp pack consisted of Jenny Bean, Mischief, Elsa, Sophie, Sage, Jesse, Merlin, Norman, Buster, Sweetpea and Smokey. Every one was a good sport as our outdoor activities were sporadically interrupted by thunderstorms. During the first storm, the pack and I took the opportunity to practice our Tenderfoot “out drill” so that we could enjoy the storm with the door open, but not go out in it. As the storm passed, we moved our Tenderfoot Drills outside to warm up in the sun. We all took short, focused walks and finished just in time as another storm moved in. During this storm, every decided to curl up with a cozy for a nap. The weather has passed again and the evening is setting in with a definite chill. The pack and I just returned from the back property where we were checking in to see what the woodland creatures were up to. Everyone seems satisfied and peaceful…ahhh nice.
Good night,
Hallie

We had some threats of rain earlier in the afternoon, but the rumblings and grumblings seem to have died down. Now, except for the occasional leaf-peeper stopping in front of the ranch to admire the aspens, everything has gone quiet and still. There’s a chill in the air and a gentle breeze is blowing the familiar smell of fall in the mountains. - Patrick

Hello to everybody! I hope all creatures, humans and animals alike are basking in the beginning Fall. Up here in the mountains you can tell the season has set in by the color in the aspen trees, the chill in the air, the critters working hard to gather food before winter and of course the days that are noticeably shorter.
I had the pleasure of enjoying this fall day with the Simba Ranch pack; Abby, Ralph, Chloe, Joker, Deus, Zipper, Smokey and Jackson. We spent the day practicing our Tenderfoot training, taking long peaceful walks through our beautiful forests and just being in the warm sun together. As I sat and pondered the moments, the puppies chewed sticks, watched and listened to all that was around them and made mad dashes to trees where the squirrels were constantly chattering and teasing. Many of our Campers went home this evening and everyone else is now cozy and warm in the Sleeping Ranch. It is almost dinner time and then bed time for all. Another day well spent here at Simba Ranch Dog Camp!
Good night and sleep well,
Hallie
