The Story of Simba Ranch
Simba was the second dog that I fell in love with. If you are a “dog person,” I’m pretty sure you’ll know what I’m talking about. She and I went through a lot together. My last couple years of college we were so poor but I always gave her what she needed, sometimes more than I gave myself. We used to sit on the sofa together in my teeny little apartment and as I was petting her and loving her, we began plans for the perfect place we would one day share. We wanted mountain acreage but since she would be an older dog by the time I could afford this place, we would need a fence to protect her from wild predators. Yes, we needed at least a 6’ chainlink fence surrounding just a few acres. Our property would then be engulfed by National Forest for the open space we both required.
Eight long years later in September of 2000, we found the spot we had dreamed about for so long.Simba taught me to love unconditionally. I learned that love is the harmonious balance between nurturing and boundaries. I started Simba Ranch Dog Camp because I wanted to share our mountain retreat for dogs and humans with others.
Thank you to my teammates, past and present, for all your love and attention to the dogs and loyalty to Simba Ranch, to all of my fabulous clients and their dogs for believing in us and for giving us the opportunity to serve you, and finally, to you Simba girl for everything.
